Telling your Alzheimer’s story may make all the difference.

After decades of stalled progress, we are finally seeing movement in the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s. There have been breakthroughs in the development of disease-modifying therapies that target the biological changes of Alzheimer’s disease. We have also made significant progress in understanding how Alzheimer’s affects the brain, which will help us understand the experience of living with Alzheimer’s.

Our advocacy priority is to ensure that current and new diagnostic tools and treatments for Alzheimer’s, once approved by the FDA, are accessible through Medicare to people across the country.

  • Talia's Story

“My mother has Alzheimer's. She was diagnosed at an early age, and she has a strong voice and interest in helping educate people with Alzheimer’s as well as their caregivers. In addition, my Mom has a positive disposition that helps uplift others. I may have Alzheimer’s, but it can't have me!”

  • Rachel's Story

“I want my mother to receive the new therapy but we cannot afford it. I have quickly found and enrolled her in a neurology trial for Leqembi and we are hoping and praying that she will not receive the placebo. We have a small window of time for the therapy to be effective and it's heartbreaking to me that CMS has made this terrible recent decision.”

  • Nancy's Story

“My husband and I have been living this life for five years. Eugene is a musician, who continues to play in a band and works with a music therapist weekly. His advice is for the individual with MCI to find specific interests and pursue them. You don't mention music in the article in the WaPo, but it is an interesting aspect of brain function. We also suggest meditation.”
